Henry Ward

Born June 10 1901 in Cardiff Wales as Henry Ward but known to everyone as Harry, he immigrated to Winnipeg in the early 1920’s.  Loving horses Harry joined the Cavalry, training as a reservist during the summers and weekends. Harry later moved to Edmonton and then Vancouver.  When WWII was declared Harry immediately signed up as a member of the Royal Canadian Artillery. Harry spent time in Canada training Canadian troops and was later sent to Europe.  Attaining the rank of Major, Harry served in France, Holland, and Germany.  When the war was over Harry stayed in Holland until December 1946. In 1946 he retired from the army and returned to Vancouver.  Harry passed away in September 1982.
